So, how much are they actually worth? The short answer is: it depends, and I mean it depends a whole lot. The year is the biggest deal-breaker. The early steins from the late 70s and very early 80s are the ones that tend to fetch the most cash, mainly because fewer people were collecting them back then and they’re just plain harder to find in nice shape. Collectors are weirdly obsessive about original packaging. I’ve seen a stein with its original styrofoam inserts and box go for double what the bare stein went for. You also wanna flip the stein over and check the bottom. If you see the year marked there along with the Budweiser logo, and the lid matches up nice, then you’re already in good shape.<\/p>\n

There are also some rare oddballs out there that are worth way more than the standard yearly releases. Special editions, steins with funky different colored glazes, or ones that got produced in real low numbers for specific markets \u2014 those can bring in some serious money.
